Regenerative Design

Arup’s report sets out what a shift in mindset towards regenerative design looks like and how to apply regenerative principles within the built environment industry.

In 2021, I joined the team writing and researching Regenerative design report at Arup, and introduced design experiments such as the film Abundance as a research method to explore what regenerative design means for the building industry. This reflexive practice allowed the team to evaluate our research and use it as a conversational tool with our collaborators and stakeholders.

Humans are part of nature, yet we are most unusual in the natural world. In our brief time on this ancient Earth, we’ve become one of the most influential species in its history with the extraordinary ability to alter our planet’s systems.

My creative direction for the report allowed the report to be clear, visually striking, yet approachable, and created Arup’s visual narrative assets for communicating future company direction and thought leadership in this space.
