Abundance
A film which makes regenerative futures tangible and combines research on sustainable futures with design as a research tool.
This project had long-term impact for the Foresight team and for Arup, introducing design research as a methodology to prototype ideas and solutions beyond PDF reports. It allowed for reflective practice grounded in rigorous research, boldly exploring futures which feel tangible in the context of the built environment.
I led a multidisciplinary team to explore regenerative futures through a speculative film while developing the Regenerative Design report for Arup. I led creative direction for the project, from worldbuilding for the film to hands-on making of the stage sets and props.
The project was showcased as part of the London Design Festival at the V&A together with an exhibition exploring a day in a life of a regenerative designer in future London. Alongside the project, I curated a day of talks at the Global Design Forum with world-class experts such as Jo da Silva, Caroline Steele, Michael Pawlyn and Christopher Raeburn, which attracted over 450 participants on the day of a sold out event.
